leave me alone after an episode.

Every episode leaves something in the margins—a strange detail, an unanswered question, or a fact that makes me stop and think, Wait. Now I want to know about that. So I follow it.

Sometimes that means finding out how long a tick can wait for a meal. Sometimes it's discovering how humans ended up with pubic lice from the same evolutionary lineage as gorilla lice. The thread might lead into microbiology, evolution, history, ecology, medicine, or somewhere I didn't expect to go at all.

Each issue is short: one curiosity worth following, a quick Outbreak Watch with the developments I'm keeping an eye on, and a Postscript for whatever else is lingering in my notebook.
